Sometimes I get sick of the whole “Think and Grow Rich” propaganda. Even while understanding and agreeing that thoughts are powerful things that have the capacity to build up as much as to destroy, I sometimes grow frustrated with the struggle to maintain a positive frame of mind in the face of negative realities. It can be difficult to remain unwaveringly determined when the things you are trying to achieve continue to elude you day after day.
If you’re on this website, chances are you are looking for ways to make money. You’ve probably already read all the “Think And Grow Rich” type books ever published; and you’ve probably tried many of the techniques, the visualization of the wealth that you wish to acquire, the practicing of a money conscious philosophy and all the positive-thinking, affirmation based techniques; you’ve tried them all to no avail.
Not that you actually expected wealth to come to you just because you visualized yourself a millionaire, but even while taking concrete action and applying the positive thinking, the creative visualization and affirmation in conjunction with taking action, you’ve still come up empty. So you find yourself searching for new answers to the question of how to make more money. Because at the end of the day, that is the goal we are all after, to make money.
It’s one thing to say “I want money”. It’s another thing altogether to be willing to do what it takes to make the kind of money you want. Probably you’re looking for the easiest ways that you can find; and you’ve heard that tons of people are getting rich from Internet business ventures, so you’ve come looking for ways to make money online and not just any money but millions of dollars. The trouble is, all you’re finding are tons of internet million dollars scams and other suggestions for Internet businesses that could make you money, like dating websites, or adsense blogs, viral video sites, myspace clone sites and the like; but nothing that is guaranteed.
The reality of the matter is that there are no ideas guaranteed and anyone guaranteeing you that you will get rich if you try their program is out to prey on your desperation to be rich. For them your desperation is the ticket to the good life. Scam artists love nothing more than they love people who are looking to make tons of money doing next to nothing; and it’s people who are looking to make tons of money doing next to nothing who are usually victims of scams.
One of the best things you can do for yourself as you research money-making ideas is to avoid quick money schemes by understanding that any easy way to make tons of money would already be commonly known. Anyone offering to sell you the secret to making tons of money online or offline, is looking to scam you out of your money. If it were so easy to make millions of dollars doing nothing everyone would be a millionaire. If you want to be rich, you will have to be prepared to work harder. It only makes sense that your output will be determined by your input. You can’t expect to put in nothing and get out millions.
So where do your thoughts come into the picture?
Thoughts can either motivate or discourage depending on whether your thoughts are positive or negative. Obviously it will be to your benefit to think motivating thoughts and to your detriment to think discouraging thoughts. Beyond that, we tend to live our lives according to patterns of thoughts. If we generally think in negative terms we also will generally act in negative ways. If we tend to believe something “can’t” be done we won’t usually try to do it, or we’ll try half-heartedly, and when we fail to do it it will not be because it could not be done in reality but because we didn’t “believe” it could be done.
If you don’t believe that you can become a millionaire, chances are you won’t become a millionaire. If you don’t believe you deserve to have the money you desire, you are unlikely to make the necessary effort to get the money you desire. If you allow yourself to believe that you don’t have what it takes to be a millionaire, you will not be positively motivated. You might continue to want to get rich, but because you don’t think you have what it takes or even deserve wealth, your desire to be wealthy will be something that depresses you rather than something that motivates you. You will be doubtful and self-defeating. You’ll be constantly thinking to yourself that riches are for other people, you’ll never have that kind of money, you weren’t meant to have anything, it’s unrealistic for you to think you could ever be a a rich person; and that kind of thinking will depress you further and trap you in your cycle of poverty.
To have a chance of succeeding in your ambition to make money, you need to at least believe in yourself and in whatever it is you’re doing to try to make the money you desire to accumulate. You need to have the conviction and the determination to go after what you want knowing you deserve to reap the rewards of your hard work and effort as much as the next millionaire Jane or Joe.
